Typefall is a word game. It has no accounts and no sign-up. The app shows no advertising and it does not track you. Everything you need to play stays on your device. This website is a separate thing, and it can set one advertising cookie if you accept it.
The short version: your progress lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. Game Center scores go to Apple. Purchases are handled by Apple, with receipt validation by RevenueCat. The app sends anonymous usage numbers, and a switch in Settings stops them. The developer never sees your name or your payment details. The one exception is the mailing list on this website: if you subscribe to it, we hold your email address until you unsubscribe. This website can also load Google's advertising tag, which sets one cookie, and it asks you before it does.
Typefall is made by Kreis Labs, an independent developer ("we", "the developer"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Typefall app or this website. If you disagree with it, please stop using the app.
The game keeps its state in the app's own storage on your device. That includes:
None of this is sent to the developer. It is removed when you delete the app.
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud Drive is enabled for Typefall, your progress is synced through Apple's iCloud key-value storage so it follows you across your own devices. This data goes to your private iCloud account. The developer has no access to it and no way to read it.
You can turn this off in Settings → [your name] → iCloud on your device.
Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by
Apple's Privacy Policy.
Typefall supports Game Center for leaderboards and achievements. This is optional and only applies if you are signed in to Game Center on your device.
When you finish a game, your score and achievement progress are submitted to Apple's Game Center servers, associated with your Game Center account. Your Game Center nickname and standing may then be visible to other players on the leaderboard. The developer sees only the leaderboard information Apple exposes. There are no contact details in it, and no way to identify you outside Game Center.
You can sign out of Game Center, or hide your profile, in the iOS Settings app. Game Center data is handled under Apple's Privacy Policy.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Apple handles the payment. The developer never receives your card number, your billing address, or your Apple Account details.
To validate purchases and restore them on your other devices, Typefall uses RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure provider acting on the developer's behalf. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier for your install, your App Store purchase receipt, and basic technical details such as the app version, the device model, and the country. It does not receive your name or your email address.
See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.
Typefall sends anonymous usage numbers through TelemetryDeck, so the developer can see how the game is played across everyone who plays it. No account, no advertising identifier and no device identifier is sent. Scores, word counts and run lengths are put into bands before they leave your device, so a single run cannot be picked out of a day of traffic.
A switch in the app's Settings stops this. Turn off ANALYTICS and nothing further is sent.
See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.
Typefall may occasionally ask you to rate the game. The prompt is shown by iOS itself, and the developer is not told whether you rated the app or what you said. The counters that decide when to ask stay on your device.
The app never asks for an email address. This website has one optional form, on the front page. It is the only place Typefall asks you to type a personal detail.
The form posts to this website, and this website passes the address to MailerLite, which runs the list. Your browser never contacts MailerLite. MailerLite stores subscriber data on servers inside the European Union, acts as our processor, and is bound by a Data Processing Agreement with us.
Nothing is stored until you confirm. MailerLite sends you a confirmation email, and your address joins the list only when you press the link in it. Your consent is the legal basis under the GDPR, and you can withdraw it at any time.
What is held is your email address, the date you confirmed, and whether an email was delivered and opened. There is no name, no country, and no profile.
Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and pressing it removes the address. You can also write to us and we will remove it by hand. The list exists to send one email on release day, and it is deleted once Typefall has been out for a year.
The app carries no advertising. This section is about the website alone.
We buy adverts on Google to tell people the game exists. To see which advert worked, this website can load Google's advertising tag. Nothing about it runs until you agree: the bar at the foot of the page asks first, and the page contacts Google only after you press Accept.
Press Decline and the page makes no request to Google and stores no cookie. A reader with JavaScript turned off is in the same position, because the tag is loaded by a script and never sits in the page itself.
Press Accept and the page loads the tag from Google. The tag stores a cookie named
_gcl_au on this website. It lasts 90 days, and it marks your browser as one that
arrived from an advert. Google is then told which page of this website you reached, and
receives your IP address, the address of that page, and your browser and device details.
Reaching the front page is also counted as a conversion, which is how we see which advert
worked.
Under the CCPA and the CPRA this counts as sharing personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Press Decline to opt out, or press Cookies in the footer if you agreed earlier and have changed your mind.
Your consent is the legal basis under the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules. You can withdraw it at any time: press Cookies in the footer of any page here and answer again. Answering Decline clears the cookie and reloads the page without the tag.
What Google does with the data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and Google Ads Services. We see counts in the Google Ads reports, and no name and no contact detail of any reader.
The rest of the site is unchanged. Every other page loads its images, its film and its stylesheet from this website, and the subscribe form posts to this website, so no other part of a page reaches a third party.
This list is about the app. The website is covered by section 09 above.

Typefall is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). There is no chat, no user-generated content, and no advertising in the app.
Settings → [your name] → iCloud →
Manage Account Storage, or by turning off iCloud for Typefall.Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal information about you, and to object to certain processing. Because Typefall holds no account and no directly identifying information, in most cases there is nothing held about you that we could look up. If you believe otherwise, write to us at the address below and we will help. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for the limited processing described above is our legitimate interest in delivering the game, and the performance of our agreement with you when you buy something. The mailing list and the advertising tag on this website both run on your consent instead, and you can withdraw it at any time.
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
